Patient Education and Resources

Morristown Memorial Hospital provides our patients and referring physicians with the information they need before, during and after treatment. 

Total Joint Education Classes are offered to all patients scheduled for a total hip replacement or a total knee replacement surgery.  Classes cover both preoperative preparation and immediate postoperative care in the hospital.  Additionally, post discharge care and instructions, including physical therapy and occupational therapy are addressed.  Patients who have taken the classes report that they are less anxious after the class and have a more positive attitude about the entire surgical process.

Classes are held at the Learning Center at 111 Madison Avenue, Morristown, New Jersey.  The Learning Center is located on the fourth floor.  Classes are offered twice a week for hip replacement and twice a week for knee replacement:

• Total Hip Replacement - Monday 10:00 AM 
• Total Knee Replacement - Tuesday 10:00 AM 
• Total Hip Replacement - Wednesday 10:00 AM
• Total Knee Replacement - Friday 10:00 AM
